“Life was like that. Everyone loved the wrong person, who loved someone else, or didn’t love at all.” —K.M. Peyton (via raindropsonredroses)

“Sometimes, you have to be strong for yourself. You have to know that you’re a good person and a good friend. What’s meant to be will end up good and what’s not - won’t. Love is worth fighting for, but sometimes you can’t be the only one fighting. At times, people need to fight for you. If they don’t, you just have to move on and realize what you gave them was more than they were willing to give you. Hopefully, people realize great things when they come around. And don’t lose something real. Always fight, until you can’t anymore.” —(via raindropsonredroses)

“Liz: “I am so sick of people telling me I need a man.”
Felipe: “You don’t need a man, you need a champion.”

“A friend took me to the most amazing place the other day. It’s called the Augusteum. Octavian Augustus built it to house his remains. When the barbarians came they trashed it a long with everything else. The great Augustus, Rome’s first true great emperor. How could he have imagined that Rome, the whole world as far as he was concerned, would be in ruins. It’s one of the quietest, loneliest places in Rome. The city has grown up around it over the centuries. It feels like a precious wound, a heartbreak you won’t let go of because it hurts too good. We all want things to stay the same. Settle for living in misery because we’re afraid of change, of things crumbling to ruins. Then I looked at around to this place, at the chaos it has endured - the way it has been adapted, burned, pillaged and found a way to build itself back up again. And I was reassured, maybe my life hasn’t been so chaotic, it’s just the world that is, and the real trap is getting attached to any of it. Ruin is a gift. Ruin is the road to transformation.” —Eat. Pray. Love.

You couldn't just pick and choose at will when someone depended on you, or loved you. It wasn't like a light switch, easy to shut on or off. If you were in, you were in. Out you were out. To me, it didn't seem complicated at all.

“So I surrender
To every word you whisper
Every door you enter,
I will let you in.”

“It’s going to be painful to say goodbye to someone that you don’t want to let go of, but it’s gonna hurt even more to ask someone to stay if you can never make the relationship work out the way it should.” —(via raindropsonredroses)

It takes time to understand a girl. But if she's really worth it, you'd take the time to try and figure her out. You can't know everything about a girl in a matter of days. It takes time. Phone calls, fights, dates, and every minute you're with her, you begin to know more and more about her. It takes time to know a girl well. Not fully, but well. If she really mattered to you, you'd take the time.

“What I don’t understand is how you think it’s okay to hurt me the way you do and it’s not like you realize it, you’re too busy caught up in things that don’t matter. I know that you’re so much better than what you’ve been lately. There were days that I couldn’t wait to talk to you, or see you, but now, I honestly could care less how you feel or you’re doing because it’s not like you ever cared about me. And just so you know, I don’t want you, or your fake sympathy that may never be directed my way because I cared about you, I always did.” —(via raindropsonredroses)

“You’re going to come across people in your life who will say all the right words at all the right times. But in the end, it’s always their actions you should judge them by. It’s actions, not words, that matter.” —(via raindropsonredroses)

“Passion is passion. It’s the excitement between the tedious spaces, and it doesn’t matter where it’s directed…It can be coins or sports or politics or horses or music or faith…the saddest people I’ve ever met in life are the ones who don’t care deeply about anything at all.” — Nicholas Sparks (Dear John)

“Sometimes late at night I think about all the things that have been, all the things that haven’t been and all the things yet to be. If my heart could explode into a billion tiny pieces and scatter themselves all over the world. If I could live on sunlight and the city sounds and fall asleep in those thousands of lighted windows. I wonder if this world will ever make sense to me, if I will ever truly understand anything… And if there’s really anything to understand at all.” —(via raindropsonredroses)
